Prof. Dr. Shahtaj Khan, the first female fellow Hematologist in KPK, served as Head of the Pathology Department at Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar, from Nov 2013 to Aug 2023. She focused on enhancing diagnostic services, caring for 1800+ thalassemic patients from KPK and Afghanistan. Her efforts established comprehensive services, including transfusion, chelation, genetic counseling, and family screening. Currently, she chairs the World Federation of Hemophilia for KPK.
