NIH is one of the most prestigious institutions in the country involved in a multitude of public health related activities. The Center for Environmental and Occupational Health (CEOH), established at NIH, is a pioneer institute in Pakistan dedicated to improving healthcare quality, patient and occupational safety in collaboration with federal and provincial governments nationwide.
Team CEOH (NIH) visited RMI Pathology Lab for the IPC assessments with your IPC Practitioners as well as the laboratory capacity building of the relevant laboratory staff on 23rd-25th May 2023
Following activities have been conducted:
i. Lectures on fungal infections specifically C. auris
ii. Hands-on training for laboratory diagnosis of Candida auris
iii. Reassessment of the Laboratory using the LAARC tool
iv. Discussion with Laboratory Team for enhancing the sample yield for fungal cultures
v. IPC discussions and interactive sessions for management of C. auris. Participation of Executive Management of our esteemed organization; as well as IPC team, ICU staff, consultants/clinicians and all other relevant personnel.
vi. Dissemination of Epidemiological and Site Manager’s Reporting forms
vii. Dissemination of C. auris specific IPC guidelines and relevant IEC material
viii. Sharing of proposed interventions for the strengthening of IPC program at the site
